La Gilardie is situated near St Aulaye in the ancient Forêt de la Double, surrounded by fields and woods, lakes and rivers. This is a very quiet and beautiful area of France.

Attractive, semi-detached, single story house which forms part of the owners' renovated farmhouse, set in very quiet beautiful countryside. Use of the large landscaped garden with lawns, trees and natural pond, just right for an afternoon's siesta or for children to kick a ball around. The cottage has a small private garden with garden furniture, a swing and BBQ and a sunny patio with electrically operated sun roof.
Light and airy open-plan living room featuring well equipped kitchenette with gas cooker,fridge with small freezer, washing machine, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, iron & board; dining table, chairs and cosey sitting area with three piece suite, coffee table, CD-Hi-Fi , TV (French) & VCR ( we have a large collection of CDs and videos). Shower room/WC. Two comfortable bedrooms - 1 twin singles, 1 double with a king size bed. Duvets, gas fired central heating for winter let. Both bedrooms are very light and comfortably furnished.
St Aulaye, which is 3.5km. away, has a riverside beach and play area. Canoes/Kayaks and Cycles can be hired. Further afield (14 km) the beautiful swimming lake at La Jemaye has many facilities in season. It's a lovely place to spend the day, enjoying the soft waters of this lake, created centuries ago by monks who stocked it with fish. There are several good restaurants within easy reach by car for days when self-catering seems less than attractive. In St. Aulaye you will find all the amenities to make your holiday enjoyable and successful.
