Three restored 17th century farmhouses, each with three bedrooms, with private pool and grounds situated overlooking the River Vienne in Charente, the sunniest region in the west of France. The farmhouses have been restored to reflect the period in which they were built, but with the added comfort of today's luxuries. Two of the farmhouses sleep 6 (2 double bedrooms and 1 twin room) with 2 shower rooms, and the third sleeps 5 (1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and 1 single bedroom) with 1 shower room. The history of the farmhouses was always the major consideration during the restoration and the selection of traditional French furniture allows them to feel totally comfortable with themselves. Downstairs there are enormous oak beams, traditional Charentais open fireplaces, exposed stone and tiled floors. Along with the Louis XV style lounge furniture, a beautiful oak cabinet houses the TV/DVD player. The dining areas have large Basque oak dining tables, with six chairs. The fully equipped kitchens have Smeg dishwashers, microwave oven, gas cooker and fridge, together with plenty of cooking utensils, serving dishes and cookware. Each house has a 200 litre hot water supply so there is always lashings of hot water available.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, with traditional French bedroom furniture, with chevets and bedside lamps for that late night reading. The front bedrooms have spectacular views of the River Vienne. The large showerrooms have a mosaic-tiled shower, washhand basin and WC.
There is a communal laundry area in an adjoining building with washing machine, iron and ironing board.
Outside you will find the swimming pool set in 1 acre of land. There is plenty of room for sunbathing on the deck surrounding the pool while if you prefer something more secluded there are plenty of sheltered areas to be found in the gardens. Barbeque and garden furniture are provided.
