With the D-Day landing beaches, museums and cemeteries and the lovely Norman town of Bayeux close by, Petite Maison Heroult is an ideal location for exploring the beautiful and historic Cherbourg peninsula.
The cottage is cosy and self contained and adjoins our 200 year old Normandy house set in a lovely garden. Sympathetically restored and retaining original features, the large comfortable lounge has a small corner kitchenette. Heating is electric, with a woodburning stove for extra comfort. French doors lead out onto a private patio and garden area. The upstairs bedroom, reached by open plan stairs from the lounge, has a king size bed and ensuite with shower. The stairs are for the able bodied only.
Fully equipped for two people only, bed linen and towels are provided and electricity and gas are included in the rental price. For the consideration of all guests we prefer no smoking or pets in the cottage. The television has French channels only but there is a good selection of English videos and DVDs.
There are two bicycles for the use of visitors to explore the lovely countryside around us.
The gite is easily accessible, just 0.5 km from the N13, midway between Cherbourg and Caen which are each 45 minutes away. The cathedral town of Bayeux just 20 minutes and the fishing port of Grandcamp Maisy with its many restaurants, specialising in fresh seafood, 10 minutes.
Petite Maison Heroult is perfect for a couple wanting a quiet rural location, close to beaches and all the interests this area of Normandy has to offer The cottage can also be booked on a daily basis, please contact the owners.
