The property is situated in a beautiful rural location, in the small hamlet of Autejac, 3kms from the riverside village of Brengues. It is equidistant between the towns of Figeac and Cajarc (16kms). The property is ideal for those wishing for peace and quiet whilst having all the tourist attractions on their doorstep.
The gite has a large open plan living space with a log burning fire. The kitchen area is fitted with a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and electric cooker and has a large dining area. The comfortable lounge area includes a double sofa bed. There are two bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and a double sofa bed. Bedroom 2 has two single beds. The gite has a sunny terrace at entrance level and a private terraced garden with table and chairs and barbeque. The english owners live in the neighbouring property.
There is a private pool for the gite.
Brengues is a small village on the banks of the River Cele. There are three bars (one with a restaurant) two of which have a pool for client's use. Bikes and canoes can be rented from both the "Romantic Bar" and the "Moulin Vieux" campsite. There is a small village shop selling basics including freshly baked bread. There is a small beach on the banks of the shallow gentle river. River permits can be purchased for the River Cele and the neighbouring River Lot. The Chemin de Saint Jacques de Compostelle passes through Brengues and there are numerous other well signposted walks in the area.
The area is renound for its beautiful skies and with no light pollution, it is a real gem for star gazers.
In May/June & September we can arrange (for a small additional fee) to drop off and pick up walkers and cyclists at various points giving you the benefit of exploring the surrounding countryside. A picnic lunch and drink will also be provided. Please contact us for more details.
