La Borde, is a charming, traditional farming domaine, dating back to the 13th Century. Set in more than 11 acres of grounds amidst beautiful verdant, rolling countryside with views to the Pyrénéan Mountains. La borde with its two family run gites, is perched on a little promontory on the edge of the pretty village of Peyrefitte sur l'Hers. With our large pool, games room and boule area you can always find some thing to do, or just relax and read, and enjoy the quiet coutryside.
L'etable is a tastefully renovated old stable building, you won't find a trace of its past vocation when it was used as the home for the heavy horses that worked the farm. L'Etable features exposed stonewalls and wood beams.
The ground floor accommodation consists of:
• An entrance hall - with doors leading to
• The bathroom - with shower, washbasin and WC.
• Bedroom 1 - with a double bed.
• Bedroom 2 - with twin beds.
• An extra bed can be put up to accommodate the 5th person on request.
Oak stairs in the entrance hall lead to the first floor living area, which has views over the pool and the Pyrénéan Mountains to the south and over the wooded hills and farmland to the north.
• The living area - includes, a sofa and chairs, TV, dvd playerradio, CD player etc
• A well equipped kitchen - with washing machine, dishwasher, electric cooker with gas hob, fridge etc, and
• The dining area - from which a door leads to
• A private roof terrace - with eating area, barbeque and beautiful vista over the wooded hills and farmland to the north.
L'Etable has under floor heating for those cold winter nights, therefore is available all year round.
All bed linen, bath, hand and pool towels are supplied. Cots, high chairs, and stair gates can also be arranged, please request at time of booking.
The heated pool 14 metres by 6 metres, enjoys a sheltered position and has superb views over the countryside and the Pyrenean Mountains.
With 11 acres of ground surrounding La Borde you can always find somewhere quiet to sit and read, or bird watch, paint or just enjoy the countryside. For those who are more energetic, table tennis, baby foot, pétanque and pool can be played. Cycles can be borrowed when available, please ask. barbique are supplied free of charge and a welcome pack of local produce is waiting for you when you arrive.
We have for the moment five very friendly donkeys who have a passion for polo's and making mischief, 2 dogs rosa and ben, both how are very good with children, and adults, some very happy chickens and five cats.
Nearest airports carcassonne and toulouse also both great towns to visit.
