This charming semi-detached holiday cottage is approximately 160 years old. It is a part of a restored farmhouse, with 360-degree views over beautiful countryside and about 100m from the clear streams of the river Charente.

It has been sensitively modernised with a fitted kitchen, pretty bathroom and splash pool. The building retains many original features preserving its traditional character. Exposed beams, original stonework, and a working wood burner all make Red Shutters a delightful location for a romantic break or a fantastic family holiday.

The Gite is near a river, on a cycle route, surrounded by quiet footpaths and near lots of interesting places to see and do, but you will need a car. Further info on what to do in the area available on request.

The nearest village (3km) is the beautiful and historic Verteuil, with a picturesque Chateau over looking the river Charente, several restaurants, bars, a shop, and two bakeries. Ruffec is further 6km and is typical of the larger pretty market towns in the Charente.
