Choice of 4 Beautiful Gites each sleeping 4 (2 bedrooms) or 6 (3 bedrooms)or 8 (3 bedrooms). Located in the Boutonne valley, Heated pool, Games room and Raquet sports.

Logis de Lussais was built in the 18th Century as a Manor House with a private vineyard. Today it remains a private residence and now comprises a detached Owners house with 4 separate quality self catering holiday Gites, all set around a pretty fountained courtyard in 2 acres of landscaped gardens.

The surrounding countryside of sunflower fields and woodlands, are ideal for walking and cycling with an abundance of wildlife.

There are local possibilities for horse riding, fishing and tennis. Close to a small market town with local amenities, easy reach of beaches along the Atlantic coast,airports, tourist attractions and historical interests.

The cottages:
L’Ecurie, sleeping 4 in a double and twin bedrooms + 1 bathroom, is pretty stone cottage, offering good size accommodation, with private front and back gardens.

La Conciergerie, sleeping 6 in two doubles and twin bedroom + 2 bathrooms, was formerly the gatekeepers house. Detached and providing spacious accommodation, this imposing stone cottage has a private front and side garden.

La Mouette, a restored stone barn, sleeps 6 (+ 2 in bunkbeds) and has 3 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms. All ground floor rooms are suitable for wheelchair access. This Gite has a private garden to the side and rear.

La Remise, formerly the coachouse, has 2 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms sleeping 4. This Gite has a private front and rear garden.

All the Gites overlook the fountained courtyard and feature French style bedsteads and wardrobes.

Shared facilities:
The cottages share a 10 x 5m heated pool and communal south facing gardens with boule court, football nets, grass short tennis and badminton. Next to the pool is a washroom and a fridge freezer to buy drinks and icecreams and beside the boule court are tables and chairs overlooking the gardens

In the Old Grange, an open stone barn, the common games room is equipped with table tennis, a pool table, bar football and air hockey all floodlit at night.

The cottages are very suitable for the elderly and young children. The fountained courtyard and communal gardens are gated front and rear and bordered with hedgerows and mature trees. Both swimming pools are fenced with self closing gates.

Wi-Fi Internet access is available on site free of charge

Bed linen, tea towels, hand/bath towels are available. A welcome pack is provided. A complimentary travel cot, highchair and baby bath can also be provided by prior arrangement free of charge.

The cottages have economy wall mounted electric convector heaters in every room, ideal for winter lets.

Location:
The property is surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet only a short distance from local amenities in the rural market town of Chef-Boutonne and within easy reach of the beaches along the Atlantic coast. A local bar/restaurant,a beautiful Chateau with park and lake,a trout farm to buy fresh fish and a Boulangerie are all within walking distance.

There are various locations for canoeing, kayaking and dinghy sailing on sheltered lakes and along the River Charente and a variety of zoos, leisure parks and other regional attractions to entertain the whole family.

The region:
A variety of sandy beaches are found on the islands of Re, Oleron and Aix and around the the resorts at La Rochelle, Royan, Chataillion le Plage and Fouras.

The region is famous for cognac, pinneau, Marenne oysters, sweet Oleron mussels, Charentaise Melon and Duck Fois gras and locally there are markets and varied restaurants to sample the regional food and wine. Local delicacies include Tourteau Fromage a pastry made from the Chabichou cheese and Farci Poitevan made from cabbage, garlic, bacon and cream.

With it's wonderful warm and sunny climate,sunflower fields and vinegrowing countryside,Logis de Lussais is ideally placed for visiting the many family attractions, the beaches and islands, historical buildings and Chateaux throughout the region.

Getting here:
Fly to La Rochelle (1.5 hrs drive to the Logis) or Poitiers and Angouleme (1hr drive) and hire a car.

Other international flights are available into Paris, Nantes,Limoges or Bordeaux

Longer ferry crossings from mainland UK and Ireland to various seaports on the West Coast of France. Only 4hrs drive from St.Malo, 5hrs from Caen, Roscoff or Cherbourg, 7hrs from Calais.
Ferry crossings also available from Rosythe to Zeebrugge in Belgium.
