'Maison Basse' is conveniently located between the historic towns of Bordeaux and Bergerac.
The Castles of Sarlat,Lot and Dome are about 90 minutes drive away as are the Lascaux caves. Their are numerous wonderful restaurants in the area and the vineyards of St. emilion.



The interior of our holiday cottage is chic, bright and airy. It is steeped in traditional French charm, combining French antique style with Indo/ French antique style.

The kitchen, is traditional in style with a stone floor. A large room,decorated in shades of white, grey and soft blue. It has French windows that open out onto the herb terrace. It has a large wooden table and chairs that seat six. Above the table is a beautiful candelabra. Open traditional dressers finish of the decor in kitchen.

Off the kitchen is a small hallway which leads to the bathroom, separate toilet and second bedroom.

The second bedroom has parquet flooring and two single beds. Again beautifully decorated combining french and Indian/French furniture, which has been sourced from Podicherry(a French state) in India. It is possible to pick the grapes that grow around the cottage from the window.

Off the kitchen also, is the living room. Again this room is light and airy.It is decorated in soft kelp blues and greens and has accents in mustard yellows in the corner stones around the windows. It has a magnificent stone fireplace and wood stove, and a traditional stone sink. Furnished with a leather sofa, large coffee table and floor cushions, again it is very chic and calming. It has a traditional french cabinet housing the T.V,music system and a selection of Dvd's.

Off the living room is the third bedroom. Bright and airy, traditional is style, it has a three quarter size antique wooden bed, chest of drawers and writing desk.

The master bedroom of our holiday cottage is situated in the attic and runs the length of the attic. It is split into three areas. The seating area, which has a planters chair, floor cushions and table. The main sleeping area has a beautiful huge double bed, hand carved from India.


The attic has three windows, and it is from here that is is often possible to sight the wild deer in the vineyards.

The garden comes equipped with an outdoor eating area and barbecue and there is parking for two cars in the driveway. The property is fully enclosed and gated, so it is safe for children to run around in the garden.
