Les Demoiselles is a renovated farm cottage in the countryside of the northern Dordogne, a lovely area of oak and chestnut woods, small fields with brown Limousin cows and many lakes., with gentle hills and roads winding through tiny villages and hamlets, presenting at every turn pleasant vistas and distant views.

The cottage comprises two upstairs bedrooms,sleeping four people.
Downstairs is a modern small kitchen with all facilities, a dining area, and a sitting area with settees, hi fi equipment etc.

Central heating is available for the winter season, and a wood stove. There are no extra charges for fuel for central heating and logs are also provided free.
Past the kitchen we have a shower room with wash basin and bidet, and a separate toilet.
The cottage also has a utility/boiler room with washing machine, sink unit, ironing board and iron, clothes dryer and barbecue stand.
The boiler provides adequate hot water for the kitchen sink,showers, etc.

The outside of the cottage faces approx. south, and has a large sun awning. In front of the cottage is an entrance drive, with gates, plenty of parking space, and a large lawned area with a backdrop of pine trees. The property includes a field and surrounding woods, where clients can freely wander. There are numerous lakes in the area, and lots of walking and cycling facilities.

Locally, you will find an excellent beach and huge swimming lake at St. Estephe with snacks and drinks facility. In the season there is a lifeguard and a canoe/kayak facility. There is an excellent restaurant/bar adjacent.The largest weekly market in the area is held on Wednesdays in Piegut (10 mins) or shop for everything else in Nontron (10-15 mins), where there is a Saturday market. Plus of course, restaurants in every small village and town in the area. Karting/Quad bikes available nearby, ten pin bowling, fishing, golf, tennis and other attractions...visit the tourist information office in Piegut. There is a winery at St Sornin (near Rochefoucauld) where you can take a guided tour and sample/buy the wines.

We are approx. one hour from Limoges,capital of the Haute Vienne Department and famous for its porcelain, barely an hour from Perigueux, capital of the Dordogne...sample its chocolate and many shops and restaurants, and 50 minutes from Angouleme, the capital city of the Charente Department. South of Nontron you will find the lovely little town of Brantome - known locally as the 'Venice' of the Dordogne because its river divides and flows both sides of the town. All facilities here for a lovely day out including boat trips.

Travel a little further to find Sarlat on the river Dordogne, La Rochelle and other towns on the coast, about two hours. Drive through sunflower packed fields, past Gardens, Chateaux and old churches, the list is endless.
